David Villa has revealed he considers Barcelona star Leo Messi to be the best player in the world, insisting the Argentine is unstoppable on his day.

Following los Che’s 3-0 defeat to Barcelona at the Camp Nou this past weekend, thanks to a Leo Messi hat-trick, David Villa told Sport, “when the best player in the world has his day, it is difficult to stop him."

The Spanish international also spoke about his side’s upcoming second-leg clash in the Europa League in Germany against Werder Bremen.

Los Che have a big task on their hands following their 1-1 draw with the Germans at the Mestalla last week and Villa admitted that he expects a difficult game but is staying confident.

“If we think it's impossible, then we may as well stay at home but we are ready to overcome that and progress.”
